Tianjin University of Technology (TUT) is a multidisciplinary university under the administration of Tianjin Municipality, focusing on engineering while integrating science, technology and engineering, with coordinated development of engineering, science, technology, management, liberal arts, arts and other disciplines. It is also a key university of the Excellent Engineer Education and Training Program. Founded in 1979, the TUT is a key municipal university that has been growing rapidly with China's reform and opening-up and the modernization of Tianjin. The TUT has 15 schools, 68 undergraduate majors, 4 first-level disciplines authorized to grant doctoral degrees, 22 first-level disciplines authorized to grant master's degrees, 13 master's degree authorization points, and 4 postdoctoral research stations. The TUT advocates collaborative and inclusive education and attaches great importance to exchanges and cooperation with Chinese and international universities and scientific research institutions. So far, the TUT has established cooperation with 140 renowned universities and scientific research institutions in 36 countries and regions. The TUT has established 2 Confucius Institutes and 1 Confucius Classroom in Poland and Cote d’Ivoire, set up the Belt and Road Central and Eastern Europe Institute, and joined the China-Poland University Alliance as its only university member in Tianjin, with exchange programs with 12 universities in Poland. By the end of 2023, the TUT has enrolled more than 10,000 international students, with students in academic degree programs covering bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees. The TUT offers courses in its strong disciplines and recruits international students from all over the world.
